Webinar 3: Expanding social health protection coverage to the ‘missing middle’ populations in India

This is the third of the four-webinar series on Health Financing in India ( the 1st and 2nd webinars were held on August 18 and October 19, 2021, respectively) and is developed by health financing experts from ILO, WHO India, IHSC and ACCESS Health International. The webinar is scheduled for April 29, 2022, 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm IST

The webinar aims to discuss the strategies for extending coverage, the challenges in implementing them, and suggestions/ recommendations for offsetting the challenges.

Our panelists represent key national bodies and institutions working in social health protection in India

  • Dr Madan Gopal, Senior Consultant at NITI Aayog will present the findings of their report on ‘Health Insurance for India’s Missing Middle’.
  • Mr S Ravichandran, Insurance Commissioner, ESIC
  • Prof Ajay Shah, National Institute of Public Finance & Policy

Ms. Mariko Ouchi, Social Security Specialist, ILO will moderate the session.
