7,5 million USD is injected to health system in Russia to pay for providers’ virtual consultations during the pandemic

More than half a billion rubles will be directed to the remuneration of doctors who consult citizens remotely.

The government continues to implement an updated plan of measures to counter the spread of coronavirus.

600 million rubles have been allocated from the Reserve Fund to pay for virtual medical consultations provided by medical workers, as well as students of medical universities and colleges.

This will allow additional involvement of at least 2.5 thousand health workers. As a result, citizens will receive remote consultations faster and with better access.

Virtual consultations will be available not only to people with COVID-19, but also to citizens with symptoms of pneumonia, SARS and influenza.

The main goal of these measures is to improve access to medical consultations for those who need them, and to reduce the burden on the outpatient service providers, which has seriously increased due to the spread of Omicron type of coronavirus.

In accordance with the new version of the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia No. 198n, starting from February 6, citizens with signs of SARS, influenza or coronavirus are issued a sick leave for 7 days based on a remote consultation. If the symptoms of the disease persist, following a doctor’s examination, the sick leave can be extended for another 7 days.

At the onset of symptoms, citizens are advised to contact hotline “122” or the call center of the polyclinic at the place of residence.
