Mr Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Executive Board, State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance of Azerbaijan, visited Ankara, Turkey, on June 12-13 and met with Dr Raci Kaya, Chairman of State Security Council of Turkey, where they extended the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two agencies in 2021 to continue their mutually beneficial cooperation.
The delegation led by Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (the Agency) visited Ankara, Turkey, on June 12-13. The purpose of the visit was to further develop the bilateral relations between the Agency and the Social Protection Agency of the Republic of Turkey (SGK). During the visit, the delegation from Azerbaijan paid tribute to the memory of the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers in front of the monument of dedicated to Heydar Aliyev in the Heydar Aliyev Park in Ankara.
- to cooperate in the implementation of mandatory health insurance,
- to exchange experience in the improving the mandatory health insurance system in Azerbaijan and Turkey,
- to strengthen relations between the two agencies.
The action plan prepared in fulfillment of implementing the memorandum covers the topics related to the experience gained by both countries in mandatory health insurance, regulation of the insurance system, planning and financing, and approaches to organizing operational work.
As part of the visit, Mr Zaur Aliyev and Vugar Gurbanov (the Executive Director of TABIB — a subsidiary entity of the Agency, created to manage all publicly owned healthcare organizations) met with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and other relevant institutions. A project called “Management of Hospitals” was implemented as part of cooperation with Ankara University in order to equip modular hospitals installed in territories freed from occupation (Aghdam and Zangilan) with medical equipment from TIKA and to develop the knowledge and skills of the administrative staff of state medical institutions that belong to TABIB. The delegation from Azerbaijan expressed its gratitude to Mr Sarkan Kayalar, Chairman of TIKA, for the support provided in implementing the project.
