The P4H Focal Person in Cameroon, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family, is building the capacity of the Ministry of Health on the theme of gender-sensitive budgeting, with a view to taking into account the specificities of vulnerable groups in the health budget, in line with the implementation of the health financing strategy.
On the one hand, this training aims to harmonize understanding of gender concepts adapted to the context in which the CSU was set up, and secondly, to take account of the specific characteristics of vulnerable groups in the Ministry of Health’s budget, in order to protect them against financial risk.
This training will enable the Ministry of Health to produce its report on gender budgeting in connection with the implementation of the health financing strategy and to append it to the 2023 finance bill to be submitted to Parliament.
