Chad: The Ministry of Public Health and National Solidarity among the 6 winners in the Africa Region of the WHO World No Tobacco Day 2021 Award.

Each year, WHO honors individuals or organizations in each of its six Regions for their achievements in tobacco control. This recognition takes the form of the WHO Director-General’s Special Recognition Award and the World No Tobacco Day Awards. This year, thehe Chad Ministry of Public Health and National Solidarity is one of 6 recipients in the WHO African Region. The official award ceremony took place today, June 25, 2021, at the Ledger Plaza Hotel in N’Djaména, in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry of Public Health, representing the Minister who was unable to attend, the WHO Representative, the Advisor to the Minister of Health, the President of the Chadian Parliamentarians’ Network for Tobacco, Alcohol and Drug Control, representatives of civil society and several other guests.
