Civil society organisations, media ready to better Liberia’s health coverage and financing by 2030

Civil society organisations (CSOs) have a critical role in advocating for adequate domestic financing and resource mobilisation in Liberia.  One such CSO is the Public Health Initiative Liberia (PHIL), a community health focus organization working to promote and enhance the quality of healthcare delivery in Liberia. It has trained and certificated twenty-five (25) CSOs in universal health coverage, financing and budget advocacy in the country. Ms. Joyce L. Kilikpo, PHIL Executive Director said that the training was meant to equip participants to go out and conduct advocacy as it will lead to Liberia realizing better health coverage by 2030 as well as investing more in health.

Ms Kilikpo also said that the training will help participants with the needed information, skills and knowledge and enable them to work collectively to influence the health financing space in the country.
