Please join us next Wednesday 16 December from 14:30-15:30 CET for the launch of the Health Financing Progress Matrix 2.0 (HFPM).
I would also like to convey my sincere wishes that this is the last event that WHO’s health financing team will organize as part of the nearly two-week period of December 2020 that is now known as “UHC Day”.
As some of you know, the HFPM is WHO’s standardized assessment of country health financing systems using a set of evidence-informed benchmarks (“desirable attributes”) which summarize policies and actions which matter in order to make progress towards UHC. Version 2.0 is the culmination of almost three years of conceptual development and testing in 20 countries.
We plan to expand implementation in 2021, continuing to build on and explore the potential synergies of this instrument with those of partners (e.g. the AU Progress Tracker). The Wednesday event is intended to be just one hour so will be more breadth than depth. We will be doing more technical events, and as always, happy to discuss in more detail, especially when we come to the specifics of implementation in a given country and how to align what we are all doing to maximize impact.
The launch event will provide an overview of the HFPM, with reflections from WHO country office staff who have been involved in implementation or are considering it, as well as from researchers and funding community.
