The Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator is set to host a webinar titled “Implementation Research for Health System Equity, Inclusion, and Impact” on July 9, 8-9 a.m. EDT, as part of the 2024 Health Systems Strengthening Learning Series. This session will highlight the critical role of implementation research (IR) in enhancing equity in health systems. Participants will gain insights into how IR can support policymakers and stakeholders in delivering equitable, high-quality health services.
Speakers will share future-focused insights from projects in Georgia, Ghana, and Indonesia. Georgia’s introduction of financing for rehabilitation services under Universal Health Coverage (UHC) will be assessed, providing recommendations to make the program more inclusive. In Ghana, research will examine anticipated health equity outcomes from primary-care provider networks, suggesting improvements such as referral transportation. Indonesia’s Strategic Health Purchasing Pilot for Maternal and Newborn Health will showcase upcoming inclusive approaches to strengthen primary healthcare providers’ performance.
The session will emphasize the importance of IR in identifying future program challenges, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring accessibility, equity, and sustainability in health interventions. It will be held on zoom in English with translation in French.
