Research conducted by the National Planning Commission (NPC) with the assistance from the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) and the Copenhagen consensus centre has revealed that significantly increasing financial investment in the health sector could prevent about 100,000 deaths of women and young children in Malawi by the end of 2030. Speaking at a panel discussion on the findings, the Chief Health Officer in the Ministry of Health, Queen Dube said that financing has been a big challenge, hence a collaborative approach to push the financing agenda is required.
