Vice Minister of Healthcare and Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Kazakhstan Yerlan Kiyasov shared Kazakhstan’s experience in an online meeting on “The situation with COVID-19 in the European Region: analysis of lessons learned and further actions”, organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the WHO European Centre for Preparedness for Humanitarian and Health Emergencies.
The Vice Minister reported on the work of the Intersectoral Government Commission on Coronavirus Management in Kazakhstan, the development of a Plan to counter the spread of COVID-19, the activities of the working group on predicting the incidence of coronavirus infection and how necessary response measures were developed. Yerlan Kiyasov also spoke about ensuring availability of testing, creating a stabilization fund for medicines, contact tracing, introducing information technologies for infectious disease surveillance, communicaiton for population and building of 16 infectious diseases hospitals.
It was noted that Kazakhstan has accepted mutual recognition of vaccination passports with 20 countries of the world.
