Amid looming shortfalls of syringes to administer COVID-19 vaccine, Kenya’s leading medical supply manufacturer, Revital Healthcare (EPZ) Ltd has received 4 million USD from development partners. This will help expand production of auto-disable syringes from about 72 million to 265 million annually, towards the end of 2022. It is estimated that the supply will cover more than 50% of the routine immunization needs in Africa. In his speech, the acting Health Director, Dr Patrick Amoth, said that the funding will enhance commodity supply security in the fight against the pandemicbesides spurring economic growth and job creation.
