Free medical care in Honduran public facilities is confirmed by the Ministry of Health. It also points out that there is an ongoing process of revision of texts to facilitate their application and transparency.
In December 2024, the Honduran Ministry of Health confirmed that access to public health services is free of charge. In a communiqué from the Ministry of Health (published in the Once Noticias article), it is reported that in addition to this free access being established in the Constitution of the Republic, there are voluntary contributions supported by official texts. These provisions are currently under review to ensure their proper application and transparency.
