Benin’s council of ministers on September 3, 2025 validated the national health development plan 2026-2030. It is planned to spend 1,000 billion FCFA on health during this period.
In early September 2025, the Council of Ministers validated Benin’s National Health Development Plan 2026-2030. This plan is the reference document for all players in the health sector, in line with the objectives of the National Health Policy for the 2018-2030 period.
At an estimated cost of 1,000 billion FCFA, its implementation will, among other things, strengthen governance in the sector, and improve service delivery and the quality of care. The aim of the plan is to improve the health status of Benin’s population, and the Assurance pour le Renforcement du Capital Humain (ARCH) project includes a health insurance component.
