PhilHealth provides financial assistance to women with cancer

Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) provides financial assistance to women with cancer that offers financial risk protection from cancer treatment.

PhilHealth’s Z Benefit package includes treatment of gynecologic illnesses, early stage breast cancer (stage 0 to III-A), surgery, chemotherapy, and others amounting to P100,000 (USD1,919) as minimum.

Women with cervical cancer can get a PhilHealth benefit package based on their treatment options. For example, a total of P125,000 (USD2,399) is available for those who need primary surgery or pelvic cobalt radiation with low dose brachytherapy, while P175,000 (USD3,358) is available for pelvic radiation with a linear accelerator and high dosage brachytherapy.
