Philippine Health Insurance Corporation increases dialysis benefit

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has increased its dialysis benefit to alleviate the financial burden on PhilHealth beneficiaries.

According to the Philippine News Agency, PhilHealth president and chief executive officer Emmanuel Ledesma Jr. and Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa have approved the request of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez to increase the dialysis benefit from PHP 2,600 (USD 44) to PHP 4,000 (USD 68), as reported by Zaldy De Layola.

The article added that this increase aims to reduce the financial burden on patients with chronic kidney disease treatments and their families. The benefit adjustment aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on the pro-poor policy and the Universal Health Care Law, which aims to ensure equitable access to healthcare without financial hardship.
