169 thousand insured with various oncological diagnoses were treated between 2023 and 2024 nationwide
The Seguro Integral de Salud (SIS) transferred US$ 104 million between 2023 and 2024 for the care of 169 thousand policyholders with various oncological diagnoses.
The transfers were made through the Intangible Solidarity Health Fund to cover the care of the seven most frequent types of cancer in the country: breast, cervix, stomach, prostate, colon, leukemia and lymphoma.
In terms of prevention, the SIS covers 100% of the costs of screening for early detection of the disease.
