In May 2021, Sierra Leone received a consignment of Covid-19 medical supplies as support from Germany, European Union and UNDP under the framework of the regional programme support to pandemic prevention (RPSPP) in the economic community of west african states (ECOWAS) region.
The consignment, which comprised of aprons, gloves, boots, masks, test kits, consumables and other medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, was the second batch flown in by ECOWAS through the West Africa health organisation (WAHO) as part of the organisation’s mandate to support ECOWAS member states in their national health response.
