Nicholas Crisp-the Director General of Health, argues that given the degree of inequalities the South Africa is currently facing, a National Health Insurance is critical to ensure that all South African access healthcare without the financial hardship. He further said that a single, universal system that made quality healthcare access equitable and more affordable was critical to put the country on a path towards universal health coverage.
