This study undertakes a comprehensive assessment of Iraq’s progress towards universal health coverage (UHC) targets that could contribute to Iraq’s policy and strategies. The study concludes that achieving UHC in Iraq by 2030 would be a challenge without proactive strengthening of the healthcare systems. Prioritising nationwide primary healthcare services and regulating public-private role-allotment in the health sector are crucial in improving low coverage indicators and decreasing disparities among governorates.
