The discovery of oil has enabled GCC countries to provide universal healthcare to their citizens, but rising healthcare demands pose challenges in financing these systems effectively. Experts in health economics from the Gulf Health Economics Association held a focus group to address the gaps in approval processes and economic evaluations of health technologies to help inform policymakers. They stressed the need for collaboration among GCC member states to enhance health technology evaluations and improve access to cost-effective treatments for patients.
