Law 2426 Universal Maternity and Child Insurance in Bolivia

The Universal Maternal and Child Insurance was created to provide a list of health benefits to pregnant women from the beginning of pregnancy until 6 months after delivery and to children from birth to 5 years of age.
The Universal Maternal and Child Insurance was financed with resources from the National General Treasury to cover the costs of human resources required for its implementation; and with 10% of the resources from Municipal Tax Coparticipation to cover the costs of supplies, non-personal services and essential medicines. In addition, 10% of the resources of the Dialogue 2000 Special Account were earmarked to finance supplies, non-personal services and essential medicines for the Universal Maternal and Child Insurance, in those municipalities with deficits.
