Public Health Organic Law No. 9202

The Ministry of Public Health is responsible for the organization, administration and operation of the services destined for the care and treatment of the sick and the administration of the establishments destined for the protection of incapable and helpless minors, which are not subject to the Ministry of Child Protection.

It establishes that the assistance services provided by the State, when requested by the interested parties or imposed by the health authority, oblige the compensation of whoever receives the benefits or of the persons obliged to provide them by reason of kinship, in proportion to their state of fortune.
They are free of charge in cases of notorious poverty.
According to this law, the Ministry of Public Health is in charge of establishing the procedure to be followed to justify the economic conditions of the beneficiary.
