UHC for sexual and reproductive health in Morocco: evidence brief - P4H Network

UHC for sexual and reproductive health in Morocco: evidence brief

Morocco is increasingly recognizing the importance of integrating comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services within its universal health coverage framework. Maternal health care, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal services, is prioritized nationally and provided free of charge through public facilities. While there has been progress in addressing gender-based violence, health sector interventions remain limited and need stronger integration into primary care. Efforts to prevent unintended pregnancies have advanced through family planning communication tools, post-abortion care training, and antenatal education initiatives. Policy measures emphasize improving maternal and reproductive health services and ensuring participation of women and marginalized groups in SRH and UHC decision-making and accountability processes.
