Health insurance legislation changes presented at Azerbaijani-Turkish Medical Business Forum

Capital of Baku is hosting the “Azerbaijani-Turkish Medical Business Forum and Exhibition”, which is jointly organized by the Ministries of Health of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev noted that friendly relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are of a special nature. Teymur Musayev expressed hope that the joint forum will serve as a platform for entrepreneurial and investment activities of Turkish business entities in the healthcare sector of Azerbaijan. “We highly appreciate the significance of the forum in the development of existing relations between our countries in the field of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. We believe that our cooperation will be actively continued and strengthened, and the medical forum will create new opportunities for investors” – said the hosting Minister.

Minister of Health of Turkey Fahrettin Koca emphasized that Turkey and Azerbaijan are two important centers of power: “As in any field, our cooperation in health care is growing. I am sure that the medical business forum will expand our current cooperation and pave the way for the creation of new plans. We still have a lot of work to do in this area”, – concluded the visiting Minister.

The forum continued on September 23 with panel sessions, where Adviser to the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan on digitalization  Rufat Hajialibekov stressed that to improve the healthcare system in Azerbaijan, and in accordance with a Decree of the Head of state, the Ministry was working on the regulatory framework about health insurance, which is aimed at increasing transparency and accountability, and the further development of digital healthcare.
