civil society, organizations from the United Nations system and Chad’s other technical and financial partners, the pharmacists’ and doctors’ associations, etc.
A number of problems in the health sector were identified during the conference. These include lack of qualified health personnel, the illicit sale of medicines and the manufacture of counterfeit drugs, to name but a few. At the end of the three days of discussions, a number of measures are envisaged to clean up the health sector and solve the problem of medicines. Among the measures envisaged are the adoption of a law on the criminalization of medicines, the establishment of a health police force, and quality control of medicines, whatever their origin.
