The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has covered admissions in emergency rooms and tents in the hospitals to respond unavailability of hospital rooms. Beneficiaries who stay in the hospital for at least 24 hours are eligible to be covered by PhilHealth.
Hospitals adopt strategies to enhance their capacities to manage COVID-19 during the surge of cases, including setting up tents when it is necessary.
Thus, beneficiaries who were admitted in tents within the compound of accredited hospitals in areas categorized as a high or critical risk for COVID-19 will receive the compensation, starting from March 2021. To read more, click here.
