The President of Turkmenistan proposed the creation of the Central Asian Regional Center for Epidemiology, Virology and Bacteriology on August 6, 2021, during a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held in the city of Turkmenbashi.
This meeting was attended by the President of Kazakhstan, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, President of Tajikistan, President of Turkmenistan and the President of Uzbekistan.
