This strategic document, published by the Chilean Ministry of Health in 2022, describes in detail the national strategies for its health objectives up to 2030. One of the chapters deals specifically with sector financing, where the objective is to align the financing model to the country’s health objectives. Expected outcomes include:
-to have adequate information for decision making in the allocation of resources and optimization of spending;
– have specific protocols of agreement between the health sector and the budget department with respect to the budget framework;
– improve equitable distribution in the delivery of Primary Health Care services;
– defining the benefit portfolio based on a network model of care; and
– to strengthen efficiency in the execution of spending in health facilities and in the regional ministerial secretariats.
