The inclusion of UHC in the 2015 sustainable development goals (SDGs) targets (target 3.8) and the national commitments requires that all its member states work towards achieving this agenda. However, there are concerns over its feasibility in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). This peer reviewed article assesses the government of Zambia’s efforts to achieve this agenda by highlighting  the opportunities and the challenges that exist.
