Ministries of Healthcare of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan exchanged experience in organizing routine immunization in the context of the pandemic

In order to exchange experience on organizing routine immunization in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, on October 5, 2021, a delegation of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis of Kyrgyzstan.

The parties discussed issues on making evidence-based decisions for further development of immunization strategy, the introduction of digitalization into the immunization program, ensuring the cold chain and vaccine supply within the framework of the Health System Strengthening Project of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI).

“The Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic defines the Immunization Program as one of the priority public health programs and makes every effort to ensure equitable and sustainable access to quality immunization services for the population. The ministry is also working to raise awareness of the right and the need of every child to be protected against vaccine-preventable diseases, with a focus on vulnerable and high-risk populations,” said Uluk-Bek Bekturganov, Deputy Minister of Healthcare and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan.
